Samsung Electronics Q1 earnings drop 15%

MENAFN) Officials at Samsung Electronics the world's top memory chip maker said that the company's profits have dropped by 15 percent to 1.72 billion in the first quarter of 2007 compared to $1.98 billion a year earlier AFP reported. According to the company officials Samsung's chip division posted the biggest income slump of 31 percent in the first quarter due to fierce competition with other chipmakers.
