Stephen Padilla THE LITTLE THINGS (2006, 90 Minutes, Mini DV)

"The Little Things" is a verite-style, character-rich portrait of life and love among late twentysomethings living and working in New York City. The film chronicles the lives of four "kidults," people without the experience of intimacy that would otherwise allow them to take on adult life fully.

Completed with support from the IFP, "The Little Things" won the Audience Award at the 2006 Red Bank International Film Festival. More information on the film can be found at www.afamilyaffairfilms.com.

Nixon and Mao: The Week That Changed the World

@ Barnes & Noble

Time: 7:00 PM

Admission: Free

With the publication of her landmark bestseller Paris 1919, Margaret MacMillan was praised as "a superb writer who can bring history to life" (The Philadelphia Inquirer). Now she brings her extraordinary gifts to one of the most important subjects today-the relationship between the United States and China-and one of the most significant moments in modern history. In February 1972, Richard Nixon, the first American president ever to visit China, and Mao Tse-tung, the enigmatic Communist dictator, met for an hour in Beijing. Their meeting changed the course of history and ultimately laid the groundwork for the complex relationship between China and the United States that we see today.

“Kudos to the pianist David Budway. His phrases sparkled with freshness, whether he was whipping the keys into a frenzy (while nearly convulsing on the bench) on the opening tune or offering up Beethovenesque introspection on the trio piece ... ”
